Early Start
- Steinfeld’s parents are Cheri (née Domasin), an interior designer, and Peter Steinfeld, a personal trainer. She was born in Los Angeles, California Tarzana neighborhood.
- Jake Steinfeld is her paternal uncle, and Larry Domasin is her maternal granduncle.
- Steinfeld was inspired to try acting by her maternal first cousin, actress True O’Brien, when she was eight years old.
- In June 2015, she graduated from high school after homeschooling since 2008.
Career Journey
- 2011: At age 14, she portrayed Juliet in a 2013 adaptation of Romeo and Juliet.
- 2014: Steinfeld performed the role of Violet, one of the leads in the romance-drama Begin Again which was given a limited release in the United States.
- 2015: Steinfeld and singer Shawn Mendes released “Stitches”, an acoustic version. Her debut single, “Love Myself”, came out as produced by Republic Records.
- 2016: The lead role in The Edge of Seventeen, a coming-of-age comedy co-starring Blake Jenner, Woody Harrelson and Kyra Sedgwick, and written and directed by Kelly Fremon Craig was achieved by Hailee.
- 2017: The single “Let Me Go” in collaboration with Swedish record producer Alesso with Florida Georgia Line and Andrew Watt, made it to the top 14 on the Mainstream Top 40 charts.
- 2018: “Capital Letters” which was for the soundtrack to the film Fifty Shades Freed, was launched where the song got worldwide acclaim and ranked number 12 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart.
- 2019: She was featured on the remix of “Woke Up Late” by Drax Project in August plus the music video for Benny Blanco and Juice Wrld’s single “Graduation”.
- 2020: She was Kate Bishop / Hawkeye in the Disney+ Marvel Cinematic Universe series Hawkeye.
