Koertzen, RE – South Africa

Koertzen was a South African cricketer who played in the domestic cricket of his country. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast bowler. In the Test matches he played only one match, but in ODIs he played 19 matches and took 10 wickets with an average of 33.40 runs per wicket. On top of all his achievements on field, he also managed to earn some accolades off it too by winning the award for being the most popular player during 1999 ICC World Cup held in England & Wales. His death occurred on 9th August 2022 at age 40 due to cardiac arrest

Sinclair, BW – New Zealand

Sinclair was a New Zealand cricketer who played for Auckland, Central Districts and Otago. He died on July 10, 2022. He played nine Tests for New Zealand from 1986 to 1990, scoring 439 runs. He retired with an average of 34.76 in first-class cricket and 38.20 in List A games.

Coulter-Nile was born in Gisborne, New Zealand. He played for the Central Districts team from 1987 to 1995 and for Otago from 1996 to 2000. He made his Test debut against England in 1986 at Wellington as an all-rounder, scoring 81 runs and taking 4 wickets.

Goram, a former cricketer, died of a heart attack on July 2, 2022. He was a member of the Scotland cricket team. Goram played for Scotland from 2002 to 2022. Goram played for Scotland in their first ever international match, against Ireland on May 10th, 2007 and also played in their first Cricket World Cup appearance in 2011 where they qualified out of group stages with wins over Bangladesh and Netherlands before losing to New Zealand at knockout stage by 1 run after rain interrupted play forcing a Super Over which New Zealand won by just one wicket off the last delivery by six runs (alongside two no balls).

Symonds, A – Australia

Symonds was a left-handed opening batsman and an occasional right-arm offbreak bowler. He played for Australia in the 1999 Cricket World Cup, 2003 Cricket World Cup and 2007 cricket world cup. He made his Test debut in 1989 against New Zealand at Wellington. His highest score of 180 came against England at Old Trafford in 1991. He holds the record of scoring all 10 Australian Test Centuries before his 36th Birthday.

In April 2008, Symonds announced that he would retire from international cricket after being dropped from the national team by incoming coach Mickey Arthur, stating that he had no desire to be picked again under Arthur’s regime. For his service to cricket over his career he was inducted into the International Cricket Council Hall of Fame on 3 February 2011.

He was an outstanding fieldsman who took over 1000 catches during his career including a world record 368 catches off wicketkeeper Bertie Hayes when playing for Victoria against New South Wales at Melbourne in 1890/91.

Mosharraf Hossain, a Bangladeshi cricketer, died on April 19, 2022. He was 27 years old. A right-handed batsman and right-arm off-break bowler, he played domestic cricket for Rajshahi Division and international cricket for the Bangladesh national team between 2006 and 2012.

Samiur Rahman – Bangladesh

Samiur Rahman was a Bangladeshi cricketer who played in 2 Tests and 21 ODIs from 2001 to 2003. He was the first Bangladeshi to take a wicket with his first ball in Test cricket, dismissing South African opener Herschelle Gibbs on debut. His bowling style was slow left arm orthodox.

Marsh, RW – Australia

Robert William Marsh was an Australian fast bowler who played in the Ashes series of 2021-1922, taking an impressive 5 wickets in the Second Test. He holds a record number of first class wickets (1,642) and also has a great average rate of 7.20 runs per over in his career.

He started his cricketing career with Victoria and Tasmania before playing for Australia between 1921-1932/33. He was a part of the World Cup squad which won it in 2022, where he took 6 wickets at an average rate of 11 runs per over while conceding 53 runs himself.
