The driving route offers history and culture as the inland road driving takes you to villages and towns built by the early settlers and gold miners. Make your first stop the capital Canberra and take in the various architectural feats and visit the Australian War Memorial and the National Museum of Australia. After Canberra enjoy the cultural heritage of Albury-Wodonga and visit the Murray River where you can kayak, or take a boat trip. Before you reach Melbourne, stop at Bendigo and take a ride on the tram and visit the gallery where art dates back to the 1850s.
