1. Bad Tales
Damiano and Fabio D’Innocenzo are the writers and directors of the 2020 Italian-Swiss drama film Bad Tales. The D’Innocenzo brothers won Silver Bear for Best Screenplay just at 70th Berlin International Film Festival, where that premiered in the festival’s main competition section and went on to compete for the Golden Bear.

Italian comedian Marco Ponti’s 2018 flick Reckless is a comedy. When a 30-year-old mechanic on the verge of bankruptcy goes to the bank to request a loan, things quickly spiral out of control, and he finds himself the target of a heist, the police or the underworld on his tail, and an odd hostage.

Marc Meyers is the director of the 2019 American-Italian drama film Human Capital. The 2004 Stephen Amidon novel of the exact name, translated into a 2013 Italian movie by Paolo Virzi, inspired Oren Moverman’s script. Liev Schreiber, Paul Sparks, and Fred Hechinger appear in the movie.
4. Girl in the Fog
The Girl in the Fog is a 2017 Italian psychological thriller movie that was adapted from Donato Carrisi’s book of the same name. A psychological suspense novel is The Girl in the Fog. One is drawn into the world of the characters and is prompted to reflect on his moral presumptions. A 16-year-old girl mysteriously vanishes in a remote area, prompting an investigation into the village’s male residents.
5. Martin Eden
Pietro Marcello’s historical romantic play Martin Eden is an Italian-French production. The movie, partially based on Jack London’s 1909 novel of the same name, follows a sailor trying to reinvent himself like a writer in post-World War II Italy. At 76th Venice International Film Festival, it was chosen to compete for the Golden Lion.
6. Love & Friendship
Whit Stillman wrote and directed the 2016 period comedy Love & Friendship. Kate Beckinsale, Chlo Sevigny, Xavier Samuel, and Emma Greenwell feature in the film, which is based upon Jane Austen’s epistolary novel Lady Susan, written about 1794. The movie follows newly divorced Lady Susan in their daring and cunning attempts to find herself and her daughter suitable, affluent spouses.
7. Churchill
In the 2017 British historical war drama film Churchill, directed by Jonathan Teplitzky, Winston Churchill is portrayed in June 1944, particularly in the hours before D-Day. Winston Churchill, who has endured years of combat, anticipates the 1944 Normandy landings and predicts a catastrophe. Brian Cox plays the title character in the movie, and Miranda Richardson & John Slattery play supporting parts.
8. Layer Cake
In his first attempt as a filmmaker, Matthew Vaughn created the 2004 British crime movie Layer Cake. J. J. Connolly turned his 2000 book with the same name into a screenplay. The movie’s protagonist, played with Daniel Craig, is a drug dealer in London who wants to get out of the cocaine trade. Tom Hardy, Colm Meaney, and Sienna Miller are also included in the movie. Craig’s role is nameless throughout the movie and is only referred to as “XXXX” in the credits.
9. Charlie & Boots
In the 2009 Australian movie Charlie & Boots, Paul Hogan & Shane Jacobson are the main characters. Since it was released on Father’s Day in 2009, it scored the best opening weekend of any Australian movie (1 September 2009). Numerous rural Australian small towns are featured in the movie. Reg Evans, who perished in 2009 Victorian bushfires even before the movie was released, also has an appearance, and the movie is dedicated to victims of blazes.
10. Flawless
The 2007 British crime drama Flawless, which stars Michael Caine and Demi Moore, was written by Edward Anderson and directed by Michael Radford. In Germany, it had its debut on 11 February. On 28 March 2008, a restricted version of the movie was released in America.
