The W Hotels is part of the Marriott’s Group of hotels which present a youthful and chic hotel and it will be the flagship in Melbourne. There will be 294 guestrooms as well as an Extreme WoW Suite which is going to be the most exclusive presidential suite as well as 40 standard suites. Top amenities include an indoor heated swimming pool, world-class fitness centre, a day spa, restaurants and bars.

2. Crowne Plaza Adelaide

Another brand-new hotel to open in 2020 in Adelaide is the Crowne Plaza. It will be the city’s tallest building and situated on Frome Street between North Terrace and Rundle Street. In the vicinity are iconic cultural attractions, educational institutions, commercial offices, gardens, galleries, museums, restaurants and retail options. The 326-room hotel is different from other hotels with the main reception and check-in located on the tenth floor. Exclusive and high-class amenities and facilities include a 600 square metre conference and meeting space, gym, spa, restaurant, bar and infinity pool.

3. Holiday Inn and Suites Geelong

When the Holiday Inn and Suites opens its doors in 2020, it will be Geelong’s largest hotel. It is Intercontinental Hotel Group’s first Australian Holiday Inn that also offers its guests 40 long-stay suites and other suites aside from the 190 guest rooms. The hotel will also feature a 300 square metre function room and meeting facilities, a gym, swimming pool, bar and all-day dining restaurant.

4. Hyatt Centric Hobart Hotel

Hyatt is an incredibly strong hotel brand and in Australia, it certainly is one of the strongest, fuelled by strong tourism arrivals from the UK, United States, China and obviously Australia’s domestic tourism. The newly planned hotel will be the Hyatt Centric Hobart as a 221-room hotel. The Hyatt group are working with Dreamtime Australia and JAWS Architects to design inspired, artisan and bespoke interiors. It will be utterly exclusive and upscale geared toward millennial-minded people offering ultra-modern touches like salon-grade hairdryers, more ‘Smart” devices and Bluetooth enabled devices. It will feature a rooftop bar, a restaurant and all the amenities you could expect from five-star luxury.

5. St. Regis Melbourne

Australia will have its first St. Regis Hotel after signing with hotel group Marriot International. This newly built hotel will not be ready in 2020 as it is set to open in 2022. The development will be part of the mixed-used tower Flinders Bank which is a planned 33 story building with the hotel housed from level two up to level eleven. The interiors will be designed by Chada which is an Australian based interior designer, while the architects, Fender Katsakidis are also Australian.

6. DoubleTree – Western Australia

When you go to Western Australia to the Kalgoorlie Golf Course in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, you can book into the DoubleTree which is a Hilton Hotel. It is the first Hilton Hotel for Western Australia with a development cost of $22 million. Included in the development is a clubhouse of $4 million for the Goldfields Golf Club. It will be a resort hotel with 120 rooms including 14 executive suites.

7. Dorsett Hotel International – Broadbeach Island

The Broadbeach Island on the Gold Coast will see an elaborate $400 million project from a Hong Kong-based consortium. It is a joint venture by Chow Tai Fook Enterprises, Star Entertainment Group and FEC. It will be the first Dorset hotel in Australia which will open early in 2022. The hotel is set to have 316 rooms as well as 423 Star Residences which will be apartments and world-class amenities.

In February 2019 work started on the $200 million exclusive Westin Darwin hotel. While the Westin Darwin initially planned to have its grand opening in 2020, it appears that their calculations might have been off as it has been extended to 2021. It will have an outstanding location adjoining the CBD and overlooking Darwin Harbour. The amount of tourism is expected to increase significantly and also be a major draw for high-profile businesspeople. It will have 240 guest rooms and all the best amenities including large conference spaces.
