Unforgettable Experiences in Australia

When asked what our dream holiday destination is, a huge number of people will say Australia. It could be due to the number of sunny days that the country gets or it could be because of the vast expanse of country there is to explore.

Whatever the reason, we’re going to talk you through some of the best places to go as well as some of the most unforgettable experiences you can have out there. So if you’re looking to expand your horizons and experience entertainment outside of an online poker site, then look no further.

Places to visit in Australia

  • Sydney

While Sydney isn’t the official capital of Australia, it is certainly the cultural capital. It’s the biggest city in Australia and home to so many of the tourist hotspots you’d recognise. And there’s so much to explore.

From the famous Opera House, to the Taronga Zoo, there’s so much to explore. As with many main cities, there are lots of sources out there to keep you entertained.

There’s a plethora of bars and restaurants to keep you fed and watered. And if you’re looking for a night out, there are plenty of exciting clubs to keep the night going.

  • Melbourne

Melbourne is renowned for being the arty cousin of Sydney. It’s more modest in size but has a distinct hippy feel about it. Of course, there’s a main city element to it with businesses and tourist destinations.

But you only have to take a short gander over to Fitzroy to find the real artist hub of the city. With kooky bars and coffee shops galore, you can while away a few days in Fitzroy quite easily.

  • Perth

Perth doesn’t exactly have a reputation for being a dream destination. However, the people who tell you to give it a miss are missing out themselves. Perth is full of beautiful beaches and chilled vibes which make it the perfect place for a relaxing holiday.

The vibe is a lot more relaxed than other destinations, but you can always tag it on to the end of your trip as a peaceful ending.

  • Brisbane

From whale watching, to koala sanctuaries, there’s no better place for wildlife than Brisbane. The city itself is a cultural haven, full of amazing bars and restaurants. But go a little further out, or venture into the ocean and you’ll find a wealth of wonderful creatures to meet.

Things to do in Australia

  • Water sports

One of the best things about being in Australia is that you’re never that far from the beach. Yes, there is a lot of land mass in the middle of the outback, but that’s not where you’d be staying or living.

Most of the population live by the waters edge which means that water sports are a huge deal out there. Surfing is one of the most popular hobbies of those who live in Australia so it’s the perfect place to try it out.

If you’re a scuba diving fan, there’s no better place to explore the underwater world than Australia. It’s home to the Great Barrier Reef and countless other diving spots. But don’t worry if you haven’t got your scuba licence. You can go snorkelling without having to do any kind of training.

If you fancy doing something water based that isn’t quite as exhausting, why not try paddle boarding? It’s a relaxing way to be out in the water without the strenuous activity. Just make sure you’re somewhere with minimal waves!

  • Explore on foot

There’s no better way to see the Australian countryside than a hike. There are all kinds of different wildlife to see and the best way to see it is to get those boots on and wander around.

Australia is home to many hiking trails with varying degrees of difficulty so you can pick one that suits your abilities. Just make sure you’re checking the weather and bringing enough supplies with you. Most trails don’t have much in the way of refreshments so bringing enough snacks and water is paramount.

  • Adrenaline sports

Another kind of activity that is popular with people who visit Australia is adrenaline sports. Anything that involves jumping from a great height is popular with tourists who visit here. You can do everything from bungee jumping, to skydiving or even ziplines.

There are other kinds of daring sports out there too like white water rafting if you fancy staying a little bit closer to earth, but still want the excitement. Or why not take a trek around a waterfall? There are still some nail biting moments, without having to adorn a helmet and worry about going overboard.

With such a vast country to explore, it can be tricky to fit everything into one trip. But wherever you visit, you’re bound to have the adventure of a lifetime.
