Who is John Legend: John Roger Stephens is better known as John Legend who began his musical career by showing up on Jay-Z’s “Encore”, and Alicia Keys’ “You Don’t Know My Name” and playing piano on Lauryn Hill’s “Everything Is Everything”, which were all behind the scenes. He released Get Lifted (2004), his debut album which peaked at Billboard 200 Top 10, and was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His single “Green Light” featuring André 3000 from his third album got a slot in the Top 40 of Billboard Hot 100 and was certified platinum by the RIAA.
