As the headlining performer of the program’s debut Hometown event, a new regional First Nations concert series, multi-platinum selling artist Isaiah Firebrace will join ALWAYS LIVE’s schedule. Hometown: Isaiah Firebrace, a free concert sponsored by ALWAYS LIVE, Live Nation, Songlines, and Australian Music Vault, will take place in Echuca’s Girgarre Sound Shell.

It will feature several outstanding First Nation talent and honor a vibrant Victorian music tradition. A brand-new statewide initiative called ALWAYS LIVE backed by the Victorian government’s Visit Victoria. It is a celebration of modern live music. To firmly establish Melbourne and Victoria as the center of live music in Australia, ALWAYS LIVE is cranking up the volume on the big events scheduled in 2022.

Australian music legends Warren Ellis and Nick Cave will play two nights at Hanging Rock with Courtney Barnett as their support; multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer Tash Sultana will headline Ocean Sounds on Phillip Island with Pierce Brothers, Kim Churchill, and Kee’ahn; and multi-platinum selling vocalist Isaiah Firebrace will perform at a new regional First Nations concert series called Hometown. In addition, the Foos will make their way back to our shores for two unforgettable nights at AAMI Park in December, with a third concert added on Tuesday, 6 Dec, due to overwhelming demand and the swift expiration of the presale allotment for the event.

Biography

Australian singer Isaiah Firebrace, born on 21 Nov 1999, won The X Factor Australia’s eighth season in 2016. Then, he sang “Don’t Come Easy” as Australia’s entry in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, where he placed ninth. Firebrace, one of twelve kids, was raised in Moama, New South Wales, but was born in Portland, Victoria. He is an Australian aboriginal; his parents are Gunditjmara and Yorta Yorta. When Firebrace joined the Fast Track Singing Competition in Melbourne, he initially gained attention from the general public. A scholarship at the David Jaanz School of Singing resulted as a result.

Isaiah sang a copy of “Hello” by Adele during his audition for The X Factor Australia’s eighth season. After making it to Bootcamp, he gave a cover of “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys. He made it to the Grand Final from the live performances. Isaiah sang Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” alongside Jessica Mauboy at the grand final on 21 Nov 2016, and his winning song, “It’s Gotta Be You,” took first place. The Australian Singles Chart’s top position for his winning track was number 26. The song also made the charts in Sweden, New Zealand, Denmark, and the Netherlands. Isaiah’s debut album, Isaiah, was released on 9 Dec 2016. On the Australian Albums Chart, the album peaked at position 12.
