Cape Tribulation – Queensland

Cape Tribulation is one picturesque headland as well as the locality of Australia. It is located in the Northern Queensland, at a distance of around 110 kilometers of Cairns. To be more precise, the location of this beautiful spot lies within Wet Tropics World Heritage and the Daintree National Park. The Cape Tribulation also lies within the governance of local government area of the Shire of Douglas. This village is the meeting place of two spectacular world heritage sites namely, the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Forest. Needless to say, this place is one of the most beautiful tourist spots in Australia.

History of Cape Tribulation:

The name Cape Tribulation to this village is given by Lieutenant James Cook, the British navigator. This place met the discovery of Cook on the 10th of June, 1770 when the ship carrying him scraped a reef towards the northeast of the cape while passing. Interestingly, this reef has now been named as the Endeavour Reef. Later in the 1930s, various Europeans started visiting this place and soon they found the rainforest environment a very difficult place to ever get established. However, with time everything related to human activities started taking place in this abandoned area. This is how Cape Tribulation became populated with human settlement and activities.
