George Thorogood & The Destroyers Biography
The American blues-rock band George Thorogood or the Destroyers released their self-titled first album in 1977. It features largely renditions of popular blues songs, including a mashup of “House Rent Boogie” by John Lee Hooker and “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer” by Rudy Toombs originally written for Amos Milburn and subsequently recorded by Hooker. Rounder re-released the album in 2015 under the name George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers, with the band’s original lineup intact. It excludes Billy Blough’s bass overdubs, which were added after the initial recording sessions. It also includes Elmore James’ previously unheard single “Goodbye Baby.”
The Australasian-Exclusive souvenir version of George Thorogood & The Destroyers’ The Original will be released to coincide with the tour.
