Muhammad Ali was born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. and grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. He is regarded as the greatest boxer of all time with a career record of 56-5 (37 wins by knockout). People called him as “The Greatest”.

1. Cassius Clay vs. Tunney Hunsaker – Oct. 29, 1960
Tunney Hunsaker was the Olympic Light heavyweight boxing champion while Ali is starting his boxing career as Cassius Clay. He regarded that Hunsaker gave him the hardest body shots he had ever gotten in his fights. Clay won through a unanimous decision on points in a six-round match.
2. Clay vs. Sonny Liston I – Feb. 25, 1964
Liston was the World Heavyweight Champion at that time while Clay came from three straight wins. With power and speed, Clay won in the 6th round and became the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
3. Ali vs. Leon Spinks II – Sept. 15, 1978
This is known as the “Battle for History”.
After Spinks’ win in February of 1978, Ali got all the control in the rematch bout and regained the WBA heavyweight title via a unanimous decision. This win made him the first man to get the World Heavyweight Championship three times. This fight marked as the largest indoor attendance for a boxing match.
4. Ali vs. George Foreman – Oct. 30, 1974
This fight was known to be the “Rumble in the Jungle”. Known to own the hardest punch, Foreman with 40-0 streak took this fight with Ali but the latter took the “Rope-A-Dope” style knocking out Foreman in the eighth round to win the title.
5.1Â Ali vs. Joe Frazier I – March 8, 1971
On that March night in Madison Square Garden, two undefeated champions, Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier met and fought in what was billed as “The Fight of the Century”. As a result, Frazier claimed victory by unanimous decision, handing Ali his first defeat.
5.2 Ali. vs Frazier III – Oct. 1, 1975
Dubbed as the “Thrilla in Manila”, the heavyweight division considered this fight to be the most brutal in history. A fourteen-round fight ensued, with Ali winning, as Frazier’s trainer Eddie Futch stopped the bout after the 14th round.
