Donald Trump Promises To Re-Negotiate Israeli Peace After UN Vote

After UN Vote, Donald Trump Promises To Re-Negotiate Israeli Peace

Re-Negotiate Israeli Peace – American President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday pledged to negotiate a peace accord between the State of Israel and Palestinians, despite a United Nations Security Council that was passed on Friday.

“The big loss yesterday for Israel in the United Nations will make it much harder to negotiate peace. Too bad, but we will get it done anyway!” Trump wrote via this official Twitter handle.

The UNSC resolution, which condemned and termed Israeli settlement building as illegal, was passed as the United States abstained despite calls from Donald Trump and Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the Obama administration to block the measure.

Trump even intervened to put pressure on Egypt, the sponsor of the resolution, to delay the vote.

The president-elect’s pledge to negotiate a peace deal comes just a week after announcing his choice for U.S ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, a staunch hardliner who has previously challenged a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
