UPDATE: Sydney flooded by torrential rain, parts of northern beaches evacuated
Sydney is now experiencing flooding caused by the same weather system that struck Queensland and northern NSW. Manly Dam began spilling, potentially affecting over 2,000 people and 800 homes.

The state’s Bureau of Meterology issued a warning to 40,000 people to evacuate low-lying areas. Dean Narramore from the Bureau of Meterology said that ‘there will be a tough 24 or 48 hours ahead‘ even if the rain stops next Wednesday and Thursday.
