Conference
The multi-streamed AFAC conference, including the Institution of Fire Engineers (Australia) National Conference and the Australian Disaster Resilience Conference, will consist of worldwide and local thought leaders. Over 100 conference speakers – including keynotes – will be available to you at the AFAC22 Conference & Exhibition, which will take place from August 23 to August 26, 2022.
Following the conferences, on August 26, 2022, the Professional Development Program (PDP) will be held. At the 2019 EEAA Awards for Excellence, AFAC19, powered by INTERSCHUTZ, was named the Best Association Event potentially by Australia’s Exhibition and Event Association. AFAC is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive culture, embracing diversity, and providing a safe and courteous work environment. AFAC invites you to commit to this and speak up if you hear or see anything that contradicts our position.
AFAC
As the National Council for Fire & Emergency Services, AFAC works with the industry to make communities safer and more resilient. Collaboration, innovation, and collaborations help us achieve national uniformity. By building doctrine and supporting operations, we improve capabilities. AFAC facilitates resource sharing of firefighters, specialists, and aircraft, allowing for a national and, where necessary, international response to large-scale emergency events.
The AFAC National Resource Sharing Centre delivers firefighting resources, while the National Aerial Firefighting Centre contracts aircraft. Many Australian and international standards committees have AFAC representatives leading the development. A Memorandum of Understanding between AFAC and Standards Australia in creating and updating standards relevant to the management of fire-related risks, fire protection, and fire safety has been signed.
