History of Exmouth:
Originally, Exmouth was never a town. It was a WWII submarine base which didn’t come into existence as a town until the 1960s. This town came into establishment in the year 1967 to aid the nearby the United States Naval Communication Station Harold E. Holt. Later in the 1970s, this town started hosting the United States Air Force personnel which was assigned to the Learmonth Solar Observatory. Today, Exmouth has become a major tourist destination in Australia as a result of its serene and coastal views. This town today relies more on its tourism than the station for its very existence. The hot semi-arid climate of this town makes it a little hotter in the summers. However, winters in this town are very pleasant.
